Autoethnography:
Autoethnography is an autobiographical genre that connects the personal to the cultural, social, political. Usually written in the first-person voice, autoehnographic work appears in a variety of creative forms; for example, short stories, music compositions, poetry, photographic essays, and reflective journals. A great example of an autoethnography is one called The Influence of Informal Music Education in Teacher Formation. This is an autoethonography about a doctoral candidate in music education, Rohan Nethsinghe. By writing a reflective journals and essays for his autoethnography, he explores how his musical background, teaching skills, understanding and knowledge as well as music-making abilities and skill, have formed his current self as musician, teacher, and researcher. By reading his autoethnography I could understand how I should write my one and what an autoethnography is. Finally, his autoethnography's having a same topic, music, gave me more clues about how I should introduce my musical background and music's effect on my life.
